Mechanical Technician

Our New Plymouth workshop team are now looking for a trade certified professional to join our busy valve maintenance services crew that support the oil & gas, dairy, water and renewable energy sectors and more.  

The role: 

This is a full time position based at our Waiwhakaiho workshop, Mon – Fri, and there may be requirements for overtime work or overnight travel during shutdowns. Main duties include; 

  • Make sure to look after yourself and those around you by adhering to all safe working practices 
  • Carry out valve refurbishments & overhauls 
  • Carry out hose & pressure testing 
  • Some heavy lifting  
  • Documentation for worksheets and reporting

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be: 

  • A team player  
  • Able to show initiative  
  • Safety conscious 
  • Computer literate  
  • Holding a full New Zealand drivers license 
  • Be able to work in New Zealand immediately 
  • Have a trade certification in a mechanical discipline or relevant experience 

Experience in threaded fittings and valve maintenance is preferred, but not essential as we provide training.
